Overview
What is Trezor Suite?
Trezor Suite is the official desktop and web application built by SatoshiLabs to work with Trezor hardware wallets. Where the device itself stores your keys and signs transactions, Suite is the interface you actually look at: it shows what you hold, prepares transfers, tracks their status and lets you adjust how much privacy you want while doing it.
Because the signing happens on the hardware wallet, the app never needs your recovery seed. You connect a device, enter your PIN on the device, and confirm each outgoing transaction on its screen. The computer or browser is treated as an untrusted terminal — useful for convenience, never trusted with secrets.
The application comes in three shapes, and they cover different needs:
- Desktop app — Windows, macOS and Linux, recommended when you want the fullest feature set and the strongest privacy options, including routing traffic over Tor.
- Web app — runs in a Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and similar) and talks to your device directly. Nothing to install, handy on a computer you do not own.
- Mobile apps — Android and iOS builds of Trezor Suite for everyday checking and transfers, plus the lighter Trezor Suite Lite for view-only portfolio tracking.

From unboxing to first transaction
You can be up and running in a few minutes. The order matters more than the speed — the recovery backup step is the one that protects your funds long term.
Install Trezor Suite from the official source
Download the desktop app from the official Trezor website, or open the web app in a Chromium-based browser. Verify the installer if you want to be certain it is genuine, then install it as a normal application.
Connect your device and set a PIN
Plug in the hardware wallet with the supplied cable. Suite checks that the firmware is authentic, then asks you to choose a PIN — entered on the device itself, never on your keyboard.
Write down your recovery seed offline
The device displays your recovery words once. Write them on paper or stamp them into metal, store them somewhere safe, and never type them into a phone, a computer, a website or a chat.
Add an account and receive funds
Create the account for the asset you want, copy or scan the receive address, and verify it on the device screen. Incoming transfers will appear in your portfolio as soon as the network confirms them.

Display and interaction
Entry models use a small monochrome screen with physical buttons. Newer devices add a colour touchscreen with haptic feedback, so you can read full transaction details before confirming.
Connection type
USB-C covers desktop and Android. Bluetooth support on the newest model is what makes full iOS use practical, since iPhone connections happen wirelessly.
Secure element
Safe-series devices pair the open firmware with a certified secure element chip, adding a second layer of protection around PIN verification and key storage.

Why the app is never trusted with your keys
Trezor Suite is designed around one assumption: the computer it runs on may be compromised. That is why the app can display balances, prepare transactions and manage settings, but cannot move funds on its own.
Signing happens inside the hardware wallet. Before anything leaves your account you see the recipient address and amount on the device screen and approve it physically. Your recovery seed is generated on the device, is shown once, and is never sent to the app.
The client is also open source, so researchers and the community can inspect what it does with your data instead of trusting a marketing claim. Firmware and installers are signed, and Suite itself can verify a device is genuine and running unmodified firmware.
The one rule that protects everything
Your recovery seed is the wallet. Anyone who has those words controls the funds, and anyone who asks for them is attacking you — however official, urgent or friendly the request sounds.
Habits worth building
- Buy from the official store or an authorised reseller, and check the packaging for tampering.
- Verify downloads before installing an update or a fresh copy of the app.
- Keep the seed offline. Paper or metal only — no photos, cloud notes or password managers.
- Confirm on the device. If the screen shows a different address or amount, stop.
- Use a passphrase for an extra wallet layer if you want plausible deniability or a hidden balance.
- Test your backup once with a small amount before you trust it with more.

Is Trezor Suite free to use?
Yes. The Trezor Suite application is free and open source, and you do not need a subscription to store, send or receive crypto with a Trezor device. Optional third-party services inside the app — buying with a card, swapping, staking — charge their own provider fees, which are shown before you confirm.
Do I have to use Trezor Suite with a Trezor device?
Trezor Suite is built for Trezor hardware wallets and is at its most useful with one connected. Without a device there is nothing to sign with, so you would only see the interface, not a working wallet. Note that Suite is not a software wallet: it never stores keys on your computer.
Desktop app or web app — which should I pick?
The desktop app is the recommended choice for most people: the full feature set, stronger privacy controls including Tor, and no dependency on a browser tab. The web app is a good fallback when you are on a computer where you cannot install software. Both talk to the same hardware wallet and the same accounts.
Can I use Suite on a phone?
Yes. Trezor Suite is available for Android and iOS, and the lighter Trezor Suite Lite app is designed for view-only portfolio tracking. On Android you can connect most Trezor models by cable; on iPhone, connections are Bluetooth-only, so a Bluetooth-capable device is needed for anything beyond watch-only use.
What happens if I lose my computer?
Nothing happens to your funds. Your keys live on the hardware wallet and your backup words live wherever you stored them offline. Install Trezor Suite on a new computer, connect the device, and your accounts and balances reappear.
